We recently purchased a bunch of iMacs for our school computer laboratory, and I see the smiles in our student’s faces when they use it. Personally, I have my own to work with at the office, and I can understand why it’s a breath of fresh air compared to our old PC setups. This means you'll may adaptors to connect to your external monitor, phone, SD card, scanner and other devices.
You will get so much more power for so much less money. If you do buy a mac, get a used old dual quad core (or dual six core) mac pro tower off of ebay and throw in a bunch of ram, an ssd and a good graphics card.
I actually love using it because it can clearly display everything that I am working on. Not only is it brimming with power and speed but it also has adequate storage space for all of my files.

I ignored my G5 for a couple years, because the quad pc i built was a faster, better hd editor. I recently was able to swing a nehalem mac pro, and am really glad to be back in an all mac environment for my hd work. More local editing work uses final cut studio than any other app.
The puts it rather nicely: “Blender is a free and open source 3D animation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation.” Put simply. It does everything. It works on Mac, Linux and Windows and is an open source version of the far more expensive, widely used packages like Maya and 3Ds Max. Although these established industry brands have features that outdo what Blender can currently achieve, don’t be fooled into thinking that Blender can’t compete. It most certainly can, and you’ll see why later in the post The most exciting element to Blender is that it is constantly evolving and progressing; as the software gains more support and recognition, the community grows and with it the expertise – there are continual updates to the software that unlock new creative possibilities and continue to creep closer to what the “big boys” can achieve. Past updates have seen the inclusion of valuable features such as motion tracking, volumetric lighting and faster rendering.
